Every
waking moment of every hour every day,
I think of you,
checking for messages I know will not be there,
looking for the next gathering you might be present at,
there is a chasm in my heart which echoes of you,
it pulls me into a darkness from within,
an place of endless aching, wanting, desiring,
reflected in eyes turned away,
reminding me that I am no longer enjoying living, this, or any day…
Petulant my anger,
and blurred in form,
mixed with pain such that I cannot see,
the forces and currents carrying me,
to this end.
I know that to go back is to risk being here again,
and my heart, I don’t think it would cope,
we were prohibition,
destined probably to fail,
now I find I am unable to cry,
the hollowness left inside maybe why,
we are left living with tragedy.
