Sunset
over yellow and red,
Roads the beginning (and end) of Lygon Street,
tired evenings,
the light always softer here somehow,
horizontal composition encouraging the flat,
with thoughts slowing for the evening.
The heart of Carlton is in there in black and gold,
five dollar baguettes,
students and odd assortments of people,
a late transitioned woman overly made up, playing the ukulele,
this place represents a punctuation mark in my day,
A place of rest and recluse.
A small sign advertises the so many minutes before the
next 200 or 207,
what is it that asks questions here …not expecting answers,
what is it that makes it special,
I feel if I knew that I would also know the answers to much more,
which is why it doesn’t respond.
Questions with answers that cannot be known,
need to be thoughtfully pondered, provoked,
and asked in turn as to whether they should exist all… |
