Us (You and Me)

My life turns upside down when you are around Tava,
memories fade in front of my eyes,
dreams lose significance,
plans made wither, cease to be,
and I choose to be with you always, over anything else.

The smile that comes across your face
when you turn my way,
creeps into my being,
warms me from within for the longest time.

It seems I don’t know how not to be besotted with you.
and you with me maybe, I feel,
leaving the world behind we become each others,
I want to stay in that place, endlessly.

No matter the barriers we stumble across,
the complications in our way,
even in anger,
to each other our thoughts always stray.

Be mine Tava…
so that I can be yours,
so we can love each other even more intensely than we do right now.

I have learned to stop on the whys this should not be,
to recognise the incredible, beautiful, loving future,
that is us …you and me.
