A remotely controlled spacecraft turned back to take some last images of the solar system before disappearing into the oblivion between stars. And then the plug is pulled on the optics, computers reprogrammed to do other things, is there a more lonely statement than this anywhere. All quiet now leaving us to our devices so very far away, also in oblivion, our own personal, isolating imprisoning form of oblivion, hoping to know something more than we can ever know in our lifetimes, hoping to be something more than we are. I am annoyed that we are forced to live in this nonsensical situation. Make up your own meaning the universe is saying to us, but right, or wrong, rest assured you will never know. Delude yourselves for comfort if you like, it doesn’t matter, none of it matters. It is almost an argument against doing anything that never knowing. We are left living with the constant draw of self-aggrandisement, kidding ourselves into fabricated importance and depth of spirit. But there is no other option. We are sent mad by the limited options we have in this universe to know, or be anything else than what we are…. This is exactly why
must do something I guess. |
